What is the Annapolis Gallery Association?

Members are Annapolis Galleries featuring original works of art by local, national and international artists.

Where are the galleries located?

The galleries are in downtown historic Annapolis. Most are within an easy three block walking area. Annapolis was recently voted one of the nations top ten most "walkable cities". See Art Walk map.

Where can I park?

You can park at the meters on the street or in some of the lots around town, but the best way to avoid a parking ticket is to park in the garages - better price too...

There are four garages in downtown Annapolis:
Hillman Garage: Enter from Duke of Gloucester St or Main Street
Gotts Court Garage: Enter from Calvert Street or Northwest Street
Knighton Garage: Enter at Colonial Avenue off West Street
Bladen Street Garage: Access from St. Johns Street by the College - this garage is
(FREE weekends and after 6pm on Weekdays. For the Art Walk this year, you may enter this garage 'early' at 5:00pm and park for free for the whole evening.

The Annpolis Trolley (red trolley), courtesy of Discover Annapolis Tours, will make a circuit giving Free rides to Art Walkers, one of the stops is at the corner of Calvert Street and St. Johns Street, at the corner of the Bladen Street Garage. It will make 10 stops, including ones in Eastport, Maryland Ave., bottom of Main Street, Church Circle and West Street. The yellow Art Walk Map available at all galleries shows all the stops. 15 minute circuit

The City Trolley, the Circulator (blue and white) will also be on a circuit around town and will include Maryland Hall and Eastport up to 9:15pm. Cost is only 50 cents. If you have paid to park in a city garage, bring your parking stub with you for Free Circulator rides. 15 minute circuit

The E-Cruiser, LLC (electric vehicle) gives rides all around Annapolis for a gratuity. Call 443-481-2422 and tell them where you are or hail them as you see it coming. Tell them your destination. It looks like an extra-long golf cart.

What kind of art is shown?

All kinds! Member galleries feature traditional classic styles of art as well as contemporary and abstract. You will find a great variety of paintings and fine prints from marine to wildlife to landscape and still life. Many galleries have fine sculpture, art glass, wood turning, pottery, or jewelry. Additional art related services available are: art consultation, custom framing, art installation (hanging), art commissions, art appraisals and art restoration.

When is the Art Walk?

The Art Walk is held once a year. It is the third Thursday evening in August from 5 - 9 pm.

What if it rains on the day of the Art Walk?

The show must go on rain or shine!

Is there a charge for the Art Walk?

No. It is a free event.

Where do I start the Art Walk?

You may start at any gallery you wish. All the galleries will have maps to guide you to all the others.
If you park at Gotts Court Garage the closest galleries are Whitehall, 49 West Cafe & Gallery and The Annapolis Collection Gallery on West Street.
If you park at the Hillman Garage, the closest galleries are Wynn Bone Gallery(on Main St) and Easy Street(on Francis Street).

From Washington DC:
Take Route 50 East. Take Exit 24 onto Rowe Blvd. Then follow the Art Walk Map to Garage Parking and the Galleries.

From Baltimore, MD:
Take the Baltimore Beltway to I 97 South. Exit onto Route 50 East. Take Exit 24 onto Rowe Blvd. Then follow the Art Walk Map to Garage Parking and the Galleries.

From the Eastern Shore:
Take Route 50 West. Take Exit 24 onto Rowe Blvd. Then follow the Art Walk Map to Garage Parking and the Galleries.

Is the Art Walk open for children?

Yes, children enjoy watching the artists work and the artists enjoy interacting with families.
